Everyone will be expected to know these rules and to abide by them. If anyone wants to appeal a rule or suggest a new one, make a post about it.
Don't grief.
Some people put a lot of time, care and design into their Minecraft creations, and can get
upset when they're messed with. Pranks are fine, just think about how
much time it will would to reverse (or if it even can be) before you do
it.
Try to preserve the natural look of the landscape.
This applies anywhere that you don't intend to build something. Don't chop down trees without replanting them. Don't tear up all the beaches near inhabited areas. Minecraft is about gathering resources, just don't ruin the landscape.
Don't mess with the portal network.
Portals are a precise science, and they are there as a public service to facilitate
travel around the world. They can be easily messed up, and will take a
lot of work to fix. Feel free to create your own portal in your base,
but it will only serve to get you into the nether, you cannot use it to
get home to your base. Also, don't destroy the nether portal hub - the
rest of the nether is fair game.
Don't break Mobspawners.
People might want to make mob traps out of them. If you want to disable them, just place a torch on two of the block on either side of it.
Don't kill Testificates (villagers) or destroy their villages.
There is no benefit to killing them, and they don't respawn. There's nothing wrong with altering or improving their village, but they are a special part of the terrain now and should be preserved.
